 impersonal "it is said"

PASSIVE VOICE (IV) double object

when we have double object in the active, we can make two passive sentences (each object = one passive subject)


- She gave me it



- I was given it by her

- it was given to me by her



- they sent them them / they sent them to them



passive: they were sent them by them

passive: they were sent to them by them



*John and Mary sent the students the books

John and Mary sent the books to the students

PASSIVE VOICE (II) verb changes

Verb changes

we need to know:
a) the verb tense in the active -> we use "to be" in that tense
b) the main verb -> we use the main verb in "participle"


PASSIVE VOICE (I) subject object

In the passive voice the object of an active sentence appears as the subject.
